The plot of Mubarakan
The movie begins with a flashback in 1990, when Avtar Singh Bajwa and his wife die in a car accident, leaving behind their twin sons Karan and Charan. Their brother Kartar takes custody of them and decides to give Karan to his sister Jeeto in London and Charan to his brother Baldev in Punjab.
23 years later, Karan and Charan are grown up with different personalities and lifestyles. Karan is a street-smart, flamboyant, and charming guy who loves Sweety, a hot and gorgeous girl from Punjab. Charan is a simple, honest, and shy guy who is in a relationship with Nafisa, a Muslim lawyer from London. However, their families are unaware of their love interests and fix their marriages with different girls. Karan's parents want him to marry Binkle, the daughter of a wealthy businessman Sandhu. Charan's father wants him to marry Anjali, the daughter of his friend Gill.
To avoid the unwanted marriages, Karan and Charan ask Kartar for help. Kartar comes up with a plan to swap the brides and make Karan marry Anjali and Charan marry Binkle. However, things go wrong when Sweety arrives in London and reveals her relationship with Karan. She also exposes Kartar's plan to the families, who get angry and cancel the weddings. Kartar then tries to fix the situation by convincing the families that Karan and Charan are actually in love with Binkle and Anjali respectively.
Meanwhile, Charan falls in love with Binkle after spending some time with her. He also finds out that Nafisa is already married and has a son. He breaks up with her and decides to marry Binkle.
