This is such a fabulous idea for Valentine's Day and I love that you did all the hard work for us to figure out how to make it work! Loving your display of them in the silver plate tray and that gorgeous shot over the glass of wine. xo Lili

You never cease to amaze me with the beautiful pictures of the things you make! I love the idea for red wine lollipops, but your pictures are so amazing. They really make your food, I would want to eat a bag of these!!!

You might also be wondering if wine lollipops are safe for kids, and the answer is: It depends. Commercially made wine lollipops should be clearly labeled, but if you're making them at home, you should remember that while alcohol does tend to evaporate when cooking with wine, some of it usually remains. Based on findings by the USDA, wine-based candy that has been simmered or boiled for about 30 minutes will still have about a third of the original alcohol by volume remaining.

It's not hard to find recipes for wine lollipops on the Internet. Most of them start by making a wine reduction, mixing it with corn syrup, sugar and salt, then bringing that to a boil before pouring it into molds or onto parchment paper.

Barrel aged for 6 months in neutral oak, this wine has palate pleasing aromas of citrus blossom, ruby red grapefruit, white peach and lime zest. Flavors of pear, key lime and guava linger on the smooth, clean finish.

Yep you read that right. The next time you're asked to bring alcohol to a dinner party, try surprising guests by showing up with a 12-pack of stout, IPA or Lager flavored lollies. You can also mix'n match your three favorite kinds of wine (lollipops) with cabernet sauvignon, merlot and chardonnay flavors to impress (or not) the winos in your life.

In addition to the impressive selection accompanying our new favorite way to get both a sugar high and a fake buzz, Jason Darling, owner of Lollyphile, also came up with a cocktail collection that includes strawberry basil mojito, strawberry-banana daiquiri and a Salty Dog. For those looking to have a wild night, look into the harder flavors: absinthe, habanero tequila, amaretto and bourbon. Although the lollipops won't technically get you drunk (as the site explains, there's no alcohol in the lollipops and it's sort of the same thing as eating beer-battered chicken), the candy still makes us want to put our party pants on.

"This Mother's Day, you can swap the usual candy and flowers for a present that's both in one; seed-bearing lollipops. The candy company Amborella Organics makes lollipops in flavors like peach-marigold and strawberry-basil-- with biodegradable sticks that contain herbs and flower seeds. After Mom finishes the lollipop, she can plant the stick in soil and expect sprouts in eight weeks."

Sweets are the name of the game during the Halloween season, and with the help of our natural and organic sweeteners, a homemade treat is definitely a better option! The best part of these homemade lollipops (well, other than being made with just a few simple, clean ingredients) is that you can easily change the flavor with different herbs and extracts to make your favorite hard candies at home. We used culinary lavender to give these homemade lollipops a light flavor, but herbs like rosemary and basil, and extracts like mint, cinnamon, vanilla and almond will work wonderfully, as well.

1. Combine the wine and rosemary in a small sauce pot and bring to a bare simmer. Take off the heat and add the balsamic and olive oil and cool to room temperature. Place the lamb chops in a large resealable plastic bag and cover with the cooled marinade. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours.

A bottle of Blanc Pêche (white wine flavored with peach) may be on the way to our shores as I write this. Or it may already be lurking on a supermarket shelf ready to leap out and start a flavored wine craze here, too.

Valentine's Day is a wonderful excuse to stay in with a wine and food pairing that will excite the palate of you and your significant other. This dish is incredibly flavorful, simple to prepare, and pairs wonderfully with our 2018 Tapestry Reserve Red Wine.

This is a wine that shows the artistry of blending five Bordeaux-heritage grape varieties, which contributed layer-upon-layer of flavor complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon gave the wine its generous core of briary blackberry and cassis expression, while we increased the amount of Merlot this year to tame the tannins and add plush mid-palate texture. Malbec contributed deep plum notes, while Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot completed the blend with nuances of rose, forest loam and graphite.

The Napa Valley region enjoyed a stunning, near picture-perfect 2018 growing season including good winter rains, mild spring weather and steady temperatures throughout that allowed for even flowering and bud break. These ideal growing conditions were followed by a cool, even and slow-paced harvest which allowed the winery to vinify wines at a gentle pace. The resulting 2018 wines are of very high quality with plenty of concentrated flavors, color and excellent acidity.

Another popular brand in this category is Feel Well Lollys CBD lollipops that come in flavors such as Honey lavender and Cotton candy, and contain 50mg of hemp derived CBD with vitamin B12, D3, Zinc and Elderberry to help promote immunity.

Walkston Candy is the UK's first homemade hand crafted candy business. Walkston says that it uses century old recipes and techniques without the help of any machinery, and uses real liquor flavorings to create lollipops in the flavors of Raspberry Wine, Blood Orange Gin, Passion Fruit Martini, Pink Gin, Rhubarb & Custard Gin, Gin & Tonic, Parma Violet Gin, Strawberry Daiquiri, Gin & Elderflower, and Piña Colada.

While the limited edition campaign was launched for Halloween 2022 and has since been discontinued, it was definitely one of the best marketing campaigns of 2022, featuring lollipops. The hard candy treats, which came in flavors such as Screamin' Scorpion, Creepy Cricket and Atrocious Ant, featured edible insects and were sporadically given to Georgia-based customers upon completion of Orkin services. "While squirmy, these pops are nothing compared to a pest infestation that could occur this season if you are not mindful of fall pest pressures," said Lia Vaughn, Marketing Director at Orkin.

Lamb can be characterized by being halfway between beef and game meat. It has a tender texture and full of iron, vitamins, and healthy omega-3 fatty acids. When pairing wine with lamb, consider that lamb meat has a high fat component. Following the wine and food pairing secrets I reveal in my ebook, the best wines with lamb will be medium to full-bodied with high acid. The preparation, spices, herbs, and sauces will also play a factor in lamb wine pairing.

The best wine matches with lamb tend to be with red wine, however, a white wine with some guts and high acidity will also pair with lamb. There are options for red and white wine with lamb below. Keep reading!

Rioja is a region in northeast Spain that makes amazing wines from a blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. Tempranillo has lovely acidity and Garnacha adds fruitiness to the blend. The best lamb pairing with Rioja is with lamb shanks.

Lamb chops are the most tender cut of lamb. Because the lamb chops are soft, a softer wine is possible. Pair lamb chops with Pinot Noir. My personal favorite pairing is with Pinot Noir from Central Otago, New Zealand (this is even more poetic if the lamb is also from NZ, wink wink).

Lamb burgers are a great way to spice up your BBQ routine. Like most grilled meats, lamb burgers will pair best with red wines that have some oak ageing to bring out the smoky flavors. Pair lamb burgers with Syrah or a juicy Zinfandel. 041b061a72
