With an intermediate control point (i.e. a point that is not the starting point and not the ending point), you can move the direction handles separately to have the curve enter and leave the point in different directions. After editing a point, you can just click on the canvas to continue adding points to the curve. When creating a path on a vector layer, the resulting path can be further edited with the Shape Edit Tool.


Toggling this will have nodes initialize with smooth curves instead of angles. Untoggle this if you want to create sharp angles for a node. This will affect curve sharpness from dragging after clicking.


Keep in mind that you can change the shortcuts of most of the tools in PaintTool SAI. All you have to do is double click on the tool in the toolbox, and the Custom Tool Property window will pop up. Here, you can change the Shortcut Key to anything you want, as well as rename the tool.

New Layer creates a new usual layer, while New Linework Layer opens its vector tools for you. New Layer Set acts like a group of layers, so when working you can organise your layers and won't get lost.


If you wish to round an individual corner, then use the Direct Selection Tool (A) to double-click on one of the Live Corners widgets. This will open a dialog box that will allow you to edit the options for the selected anchor point.
